Sustainable development

Our commitment

At Grand Hôtel du Lac Vevey, we are deeply committed to promoting sustainable development. We firmly believe that respect for the environment and social responsibility are essential to ensuring a better future. That's why we have put in place a series of concrete actions aimed at minimizing our ecological impact, supporting the local community and guaranteeing exemplary governance.

Here is an overview of the initiatives we have implemented to actively contribute to sustainable and responsible development.

Waste management :

  • Recycling programs for paper, plastic, glass and organic waste.
  • Reducing the use of single-use plastics, notably by replacing plastic water bottles with reusable alternatives.

Energy efficiency :

  • Use of low-energy LED bulbs throughout the facility.
  • Installation of energy management systems to optimize electricity and heating consumption.

Sustainable products and services :

  • Sourcing of local and/or organic products for hotel restaurants.
  • Use of environmentally-friendly, non-toxic cleaning products.
  • Free sustainable transport options for customers, thanks to the Riviera Card
  • Transfers to the station by electric shuttle available.

Community involvement :

  • Support for local environmental protection and social development initiatives.
  • Collaboration with local organizations to promote responsible tourism and culture, support for the Vevey dance festival and music festival.
  • Employee training on sustainable practices and the importance of sustainable development through the Association Romande des Hôteliers and Relais & Châteaux.

Sustainable design :

  • Landscaping with local, drought-resistant plants to reduce water consumption.

Awareness and communication :

Inform guests about the hotel's sustainable practices and encourage them to participate in environmental initiatives.
